The Mergo Dasli are a symbiotic species, comprised of a Mergo host and Dasli symbiont, which acts as the head. The Mergo are tripedal digitigrades with two arms and wing-like fins for easy swimming, but distinctly lack a head, instead having a number of thin tentacles and feelers connected directly to the nervous system. The Mergo are roughly six foot tall, have a fishlike tail that forms a sort of half skirt, are carbon based, and have blue blood. The Mergo are covered in colorful scales.

The Dasli connect to the Mergo via the neck tendrils, and are generally completely hairless, although having a number of sensory tentacles. After the Unification, the Mergo grow new featherlike antennae around their shoulders, while some Dasli tendrils shift into four stalked eyes.
